Perparim was a Colonel in the Albanian army until 1992, when he, his wife Aferdita and son Andi accepted Christ. Perparim resigned his post and became an ordained pastor. In 1999, he expressed a heartfelt interest in helping the orphans of Albania and was hired by Roger Mullins as President of Hope for the World in Albania, a position he held until his retirement in 2019. His duties included negotiating all contracts with all of our government-owned facilities throughout the country. He was also fundamental in the purchase and development of the Hope Center for Teens and Hope Community Church, both in the city of Marikaj. Under his amazing leadership, Hope for the World has achieved great honors and respect throughout the country, including governmental acknowledgement as Albania's #1 NGO (Non-Government Organization) and the receipt of the Mother Theresa Humanitarian Award presented by Albania's President.
Roger Mullins has been the Director of HFTW Albania for 27 years. His heart and passion for Albania has driven him to raise millions of dollars to help the orphans of Albania. Through these 27 years, over 10,000 children's lives have been touched by the love of God because of Roger and his wife, Cherie.
Roger and Cherie and their family have been in full-time Christian service since 1969. Their first years were spent on church staffs in Tennessee, Louisiana and Kentucky. Roger entered the field of evangelism in 1977 and he and the family traveled extensively in America and some foreign countries during the years from 1977 through 1990. During these years they have recorded over forty gospel music projects. Some were as a family, and others were with other young men who became like family.
In early 1994 Roger and Cherie accepted the call of God on their lives to become missionaries to the country of Albania with Hope for the World Foundation.
When Roger became the HFTW Director for Albania in 1994, Hope for the World was assisting only one government-owned orphanage. Through the years, under his leadership, and at the bidding of the government, they have expanded their work to five different cities and eight various facilities from the northernmost tip of Albania throughout the country to the southernmost city. Roger has received a number of special certificates of honor and appreciation from the Albanian Government for Hope for the World’s impact on their country. Roger and Cherie have given a Legacy of Hope for generations to come.
